Mindful Leadership: Resilience, Collaboration and the Ability to Navigate Complexity

Mindful Leadership: Resilience, Collaboration and the Ability to Navigate Complexity | 18th May | 11:30-13:00 (CET)
The Current Context
In the current wave of the pandemic people continue to work under pressure and are expected to perform to high, often elite, standards to meet the needs of organisations and clients. For many, the first wave produced a new and exciting set of challenges. How to work under these new conditions? And many rose admirably to the challenge. Now though, weariness is beginning to set in. The question is not so much how to begin to work in these new contexts but rather how to keep on working – with energy and enthusiasm when so many of the factors that have historically sustained working life have gone.
It calls for grit, resilience, and new abilities to connect with others remotely, collaborate and navigate the continually renewing complexity and uncertainty of the current situation.
In this 90-minute session Michael will introduce the theory and practice of Mindfulness as it applies in leadership contexts. Michael will discuss research he has conducted into the outcomes of mindfulness training amongst senior business leaders and will teach a number of mindfulness meditation practices. There will be the chance to discuss your experience of these in the group.
You will leave the session with a much clearer idea of what mindfulness is, how it applies in leadership contexts, and Michael will provide links to downloadable audio materials to enable you to continue to practice at home
